Keisha Marsh was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, but moved to the United States when she was 12 years old where she has lived and worked ever since. She is the mother of a spunky and headstrong daughter, Aliyana, who is the inspiration for her first book Ali Panali.  Growing up watching Disney Movies, Oliver Samuel plays, listening to Louise Bennet poems and Anancy stories, Keisha fell in love with the skill of storytelling and knew that one day she too wanted to write stories that would captivate people the way the stories of her childhood enchanted her.

Being the mother of a curly haired brown skinned baby, she wanted to write stories and create images that showed characters that resembled her daughter and other black and brown skinned children. Her mission with the Ali Panali Series is for these children to see themselves in a positive light.
